I have seen a few webmasters have some form of commonplace on their site, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you, the websurfer, will know what that means.
A commonplace (or commonplace notebook) can mean something different to anyone who uses one, but in the broadest terms, a commonplace contains bits of information that the owner finds interesting/useful/etc. According to the Wikipedia page a commonplace could include notes, proverbs, adages, aphorisms, maxims, recipes, quotes, letters, poems, tables of weights and measures, prayers, legal formulas, and other professional references. How these are indexed is up to the owner, in fact you don't need an index at all, but traditionally (around the Renaissance) notes were kept under systematic headings.
A lot of what I put here will contain bits and pieces that is contained inside my physical commonplace, however that book can contain personal notes or sensitive information which won't be displayed. I definitely encourage you to start one, no matter how infrequently it's used or how private it is, digital or physical.
